UTS

Your Students' Association: Representing You

The Students’ Association is your collective voice and the official representative body of all UTS students.

We’re Here To Help

The UTS Students’ Association provides essential services to its members to make getting on at university that little bit easier. We are a completely independent and democratic organisation run by students, for students. Please take a moment to check out just some of the services we provide.

Academic Advocacy & Advice

We employ professional Advocacy Officers who can help any UTS student out when they find themselves encountering difficulties in their course. If you want to appeal your marks, are being excluded or are just confused about any aspect of your academic life or the University administration, the Students’ Association can offer you completely free and confidential advice.

Collectives & Clubs

The Students’ Association departments run collectives which meet regularly throughout semester. These include the Education Action Group, Womens, Queer and Environment Collectives and the Ethno-Cultural Collective. If you’re interested in meeting up with like minded students, helping direct campaigns and making the world a better place than come along and get involved. We also have many affiliated clubs that any student can take part in. Isn’t one you’re interested in? Then why not start one! Check out the Students’ Association website to find out more about collectives and clubs.

Peer Tutoring

Feeling strapped for cash? If you have received a credit or higher in a subject you can sign up to become a peer tutor. We will put you in touch with other students who are looking for help. Do you find yourself struggling in a subject? We have a database of hundreds of tutors who can help you keep on top of your work - no matter what subject.

Your Student Newspaper

Vertigo is your newspaper on campus, written and edited by students, for students. Full of fantastic information about what’s happening on campus and around the globe, Vertigo is a great read that has been a part of life for UTS students for over 15 years. Pick up your free copy on campus today.

Students’ Association Books

Sell your old texts for cash and find a cheaper alternative to buying brand new texts every semester. Students’ Association Books is a not for profit service that sells current texts for up to 75% off their retail prices. You can
find us on Level 3 of the Tower Building and in Block B at Markets during the beginning of semester.

UTS Food Co-op

The UTS Food Co-op provides students and the local community fresh, organic fruit and vegetables without all the packaging. The Food Co-op is run by volunteers and is located on Level 3 in Building Two, just opposite the lifts. Come into the Students’ Association for more information on this fantastic service. A healthy mind. A healthy body. A healthy planet.

Now more than ever the Students' Association needs your help to survive. Enjoy some great rewards and help us keep representation and student life alive at UTS.
